Filippi crews dominated the 2026 Wallingford Regatta, producing one of the broadest and most impressive sets of results seen from a single manufacturer at this popular spring fixture. With outright victories across the open, women’s, youth and junior categories and a remarkable run of podium finishes in almost every event contested, the day underlined just how deeply embedded Filippi hulls are across British rowing at every level.
The open men’s events provided several headline results. Itchen College won the Men’s Challenge Double Sculls to take one of the senior sculling prizes of the day, with Tideway Scullers School finishing second in the same event. In the sweep programme, Filippi claimed second in the Men’s Challenge Coxless Pair (St George’s College) and second in the Men’s Challenge Eight (Marlow Rowing Club), while the Men’s Club events saw Northwich Rowing Club win the Men’s Club Coxless Four outright, with Cambridge City Rowing Club second in the same event. Filippi crews also finished second and third in the Men’s Club Eight and second in the Men’s Club Coxed Four.
In the youth and junior men’s events, Radley College won the Men’s U15 Eight in a Filippi hull, and Filippi took the Men’s U16 Quad Sculls victory (Marlow Rowing Club) and second place in the Men’s U16 Eight (Radley College) and Men’s U16 Coxed Four (Dulwich College). Dulwich College won the Men’s J18 Coxed Four, while Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School finished second in the Men’s J18 Quad Sculls.
The women’s results were equally commanding. Thames Rowing Club won the Women’s Challenge Eight, while London Rowing Club took second and third in the Women’s Challenge Double Sculls. Molesey Boat Club finished second in the Women’s Challenge Coxless Four. In the club events, Cambridge City Rowing Club won the Women’s Club Coxless Four with Molesey Boat Club second, and Filippi crews took second and third in the Women’s Club Eight (City of Cambridge and Marlow).
The youth and junior women’s programme was a particular highlight. Wallingford Rowing Club won the Women’s U16 Eight with Surbiton High School second, both in Filippi hulls, and Lady Eleanor Holles School won the Women’s U16 Single Sculls. In the J18 events, Sir William Perkins won both the Women’s J18 Double Sculls and the Women’s J18 Coxless Four, a remarkable double on the same day, with Lady Eleanor Holles School taking second in the coxless four. Marlow Rowing Club took the Women’s J18 Quad Sculls, also in a Filippi hull, with a ‘B’ Marlow crew finishing second in the same event. St Paul’s Girls’ School won the Women’s J18 Coxed Four to complete a superb day for Filippi in the junior women’s programme.
Across the full card at Wallingford, Filippi crews won events in virtually every category. The range of clubs and schools represented, from senior open challenge programmes through to youth and junior development squads, makes this one of the most comprehensive single-day results sets of the season so far. We congratulate every Filippi-hulled crew on their performances and look forward to following their progress as the season develops.
