Filippi kick-started the 2025/26 GB trialling season in excellent form, securing several high-ranking finishes. We were the most popular boat brand at the November edition of the trials (almost one in three shells were Filippi), and 40% of top ten placements in men’s and women’s sculling were achieved in Filippi shells.

On the men’s sculling side, Oliver Costley of Leander Club finished second in a Filippi shell, whilst Levin Graf of Rob Roy/Leander was eighth overall. Ollie is a four-time winner of The Prince of Wales Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta and has medalled at U19 level back in 2017. Ben Snoxall of Reading University was ninth, followed by Jack Prior of Leander Club / Calpe Rowing Club in tenth. Laurence Joss of the University of London placed 12th, and Jake Birch of Hereford Rowing Club was 13th. Other finishers inside the top 20 included Jake Wincomb of Marlow Rowing Club (17th) and Jonathan Cameron of Leander Club (18th).

On the women’s sculling side, we had two athletes inside the top five. Holly Youd of Molesey Boat Club was third overall, a few seconds clear of Poppy Baker of Nottingham Rowing Club in fourth. Poppy was a U23 world champion in the quad last summer, whilst Holly won the U23 World Rowing Championships in 2024 as part of a pair with Anna Grace.

Rebekha Court of Bath University placed ninth, with Zara Povey of Reading University in tenth. 11th went to Georgie Robinson Ranger of the University of London, 12th was Rachel Aldridge of St Andrew Boat Club, and 13th was Daisy Faithfull of the University of London.

Jess Martin, again of UL, was 15th, and Franny Hunt-Davis of Reading University placed 20th.

For the men’s pairs, our fastest finishers were Felix Rawlinson and Luke Beever of Cambridge University, who placed third overall and were six seconds off the leaders. Both will now be targeting Boat Race selection in a few months, and will likely be chased by fellow Light Blues Patrick Wild and Joe Travis, who were fourth and five seconds back. William Morgan-Jones and Harry Wildridge of Durham University and Hereford Rowing Club were ninth overall.

We are so excited to see so many athletes selecting our shells when trialling for the national team and we look forward to supporting them on their journeys to U23 and senior representation.
